This Tirana street food was flaky and cooked fresh, just the best way to start out Albanian food tour. Afterwards we went for a second breakfast to try lakror and pispili. These pastries were so flavourful and tasty, such a local specialty here in Albania. In the afternoon we tried the popular Balkan street food of qofte. The qofte in Albania did not disappoint! Flavourful, juicy, succulent, they were just amazing and some of the best kofte we've ever eaten. After a cold beer to cool us off on his warm day, we went to a very local and traditional restaurant to taste the best Albanian food in Tirana. The national dish of Albania, Tavë Kosi, was an unbelievable casserole dish. We also tried Tavë Dheu, another casserole favourite and a Tirana specialty.
