With this incident, the number of such drones captured under Iran’s control has reportedly reached four. Meanwhile, in the eastern part of the Strait of Hormuz, the 55th U.S. MQ-9 drone was reported shot down and destroyed by a new Iranian air defense system. Similarly, according to information provided by Hormozgan officials, two additional U.S. LUCAS drones were shot down and crashed by military forces near Bandar Khamir in southern Iran. These series of events come at a time when the long-dormant conflict between the United States and Iran shows signs of escalating through potential U.S. strikes, even as both sides were reportedly on the verge of signing a peace agreement.
