High Falls Dam Release | Aug 24th, 2019

The Duke Energy release of water from Lake Glenville, NC on August 24th, 2019. This was my first time seeing the water release on the West Fork Tuckasegee River near Cashiers in Jackson County, which is done a number of times each year to comply with their licensing requirements. While Duke Energy neither discourages individuals to observe the release or encourages the release for recreational purposes, there is no question as to why this 150 foot waterfall and five and a half mile stretch of the west fork of the Tuckasegee River are a hot bed of action during the releases.
