I Wrote a 564-Page Fantasy Novel. Here's What It Took.

Writing a novel is one thing. Actually finishing it, revising it, getting it published, and holding the finished book in your hands is something else entirely. For years, I've been working on my first fantasy novel, *Known World*. What began as an idea eventually became a 564-page book, the first installment in a much larger fantasy series. But the journey from that initial idea to a published novel was far more complicated than I ever imagined. There's something extraordinary about taking an idea that exists only in your imagination and turning it into something tangible, something that another person can hold in their hands and experience for themselves. Finishing my first novel hasn't made the creative process any easier, and it certainly hasn't answered every question I have about writing. But it has taught me that the things we dream about don't have to remain dreams forever. Sometimes, you just have to keep going long enough to discover what you're capable of creating.
