53 Minutes of Montréal [YUL] Plane Spotting | Edelweiss A340 Farewell, Surprise CF-18 & More [4K]

I went to YUL to catch the Edelweiss A340 one more time. Seven hours later, I had my longest spotting session yet, plenty of business jets, and a completely unplanned CF-18 landing on camera. The A340 was the reason for the trip. October 23 marked the end of its scheduled summer visits to Montréal, operating for SWISS on the Zurich route. With Edelweiss’s remaining A340s due to leave the fleet in January 2027, this may have been my last chance to film one here. I wanted to get both the arrival and departure while I still could. The CF-18 was pure luck. I was already filming when it flew by, with absolutely no idea it was coming. Then it actually landed. Crazy luck on that one. Someone on Facebook had asked for more business jets, and the airport configuration really worked in my favour that day. There are plenty in this video, from Challengers and Global 7500s to Praetors, a Gulfstream G280 and a Pilatus PC-24. I got very lucky with the variety. I also tried a new spotting location for the first time. That’s where I filmed both the A340’s arrival and departure, along with the Air Canada 777.
