Apple Music:   / forge-of-vows   YouTube Music:    / forge of vows - topic   One hill. Four separate pits under it, four separate years, and four sets of nameless hands who each did one thing about the rock in front of them. None of them was ever told whether it worked. Three hundred men fill their own level with stone in one night to turn a company around, and three weeks later an order from their own side has them dig the same stone back out. A woman who reads rock stops a shift and puts thirty men out in the cold, and the roof she called never comes down — so nobody, herself included, ever gets to say whether she was right. Three men cut deeper than the air at the deepest face, and the one who was moved onto the ladder ahead of the man who did not come up is thanked by nobody. And one woman takes a worked-out pit apart over six weeks, the hill sits down and shuts the slope behind her, and she never learns that a column turned back or who lived because of it. Packed. Called. Climbed. Closed. Four ways to answer the same rock, and not one of them gets an answer back. Set in the Age of Ash. Nothing supernatural happens in it: the hill is weight, the air is physics, and the oath exists only between people. 12 songs · 4 sagas · 52 minutes of dark fantasy. ──────────────── ■ CHAPTERS 00:00 Subscribe & Like 00:10 Chapter I — The Oath They Packed With Stone (Three hundred men fill the old level under the hill with stone in one night to turn a company around, and three weeks later an order from their own side has them dig the same stone back out) 13:08 Chapter II — The Thirty She Brought Back Up (A woman who reads rock stops a shift and puts thirty men out in the cold, and the roof she called never comes down — so nobody, herself included, ever gets to say whether she was right) 26:26 Chapter III — The Air That Came Up Short (Three men cut deeper than the air at the deepest face, and the one who was moved onto the ladder ahead of the man who did not come up is thanked by nobody) 39:11 Chapter IV — The Hill She Closed Behind Her (One woman takes a worked-out pit apart over six weeks, the hill sits down and shuts the slope behind her, and she never learns that a column turned back or who lived because of it — the finale of Volume IX) ──────────────── ■ ALL 12 SONGS (watch each one) 1.
