Join us on a stormy 4K drive through Clackmannanshire, travelling from Andy Scott’s Air Spirit sculpture in Tullibody to River Spirit via the B9140, before continuing through Sauchie and Alloa to Tesco Extra. Recorded at approximately 10:57 AM on 25 October 2026, this journey took place during the amber weather warning for Storm Boelo. Despite the strong winds and unsettled conditions, a rainbow appeared near Air Spirit just after the drive began, creating one of the most memorable moments of the journey. The route follows the B9140 through Glenochil Village towards Collylands Roundabout and River Spirit. We then continue along the B908 through Sauchie, followed by the A908, B909 and A907 into Alloa. Before reaching the destination, we also pass Lifeline, another Andy Scott sculpture, making this a drive past three of Clackmannanshire’s distinctive public artworks. 📍 Route and chapters 00:00 - Air Spirit Sculpture, Tullibody 00:03 - Rainbow at Muirside Roundabout 00:20 - B9140 01:15 - Glenochil Village 01:39 - B9140 02:35 - River Spirit Sculpture 02:45 - B908 03:53 - Sauchie 05:34 - Hallpark / A908 06:16 - B909 07:23 - A907 07:50 - Clackmannan Road / A907 09:35 - Lifeline Sculpture 09:43 - Auld Brig Road 10:16 - Tesco Extra, Alloa 🌈 Rainbow near Air Spirit Watch for the rainbow beside Air Spirit within the opening seconds of the video. Rainbows form when sunlight passes through water droplets in the atmosphere, bending, reflecting and separating into visible colours. A break in the storm clouds combined with moisture in the air created ideal conditions during this drive. 🧍 Air Spirit Air Spirit stands at Muirside Roundabout in Tullibody and was installed in February 2008. Created by Scottish sculptor Andy Scott, the steel artwork depicts a striding figure accompanied by branches and birds. It was designed as a partner sculpture to River Spirit, with pupils from St Serf’s Primary School contributing to the creative process. 🌊 River Spirit River Spirit stands at Collylands Roundabout on the B9140, between Sauchie, Alva and Fishcross. Installed in June 2007, it was the first of six major Andy Scott sculptures commissioned for locations across Clackmannanshire. The sculpture depicts a figure growing from a tree-trunk base. Its foliage-like hands hold woven steel representing the shape of the River Forth, reflecting the river’s importance to Alloa’s landscape, industry and international trade. 🛟 Lifeline Near the end of the drive, we pass Lifeline on Clackmannan Road. The sculpture continues the local Andy Scott trail and represents Clackmannanshire’s historical relationship with brewing, glassmaking and the River Forth. Look out for it at approximately 09:35. 🎨 Andy Scott sculpture trail Clackmannanshire has an unusual concentration of six major works by Andy Scott, the internationally recognised sculptor who later created The Kelpies near Falkirk. The sculptures explore themes including the River Forth, the Ochil Hills, woodland, local industry and community life. This short journey passes three of them: Air Spirit River Spirit Lifeline 🌬 Storm Boelo Storm Boelo brought strong winds across Scotland, with an amber weather warning covering most of the country. Widespread gusts of 60 to 70 mph were forecast, with stronger winds possible in exposed locations. Heavy rain added the risk of fallen trees, road debris, travel disruption, power cuts and localised flooding. Although the roads used in this video were open, weather conditions and restrictions can change quickly during storms. Always check official travel information before setting out. 🎥 Video details Camera: GoPro Resolution: 4K Frame rate: 30 fps Duration: 11 minutes 48 seconds Recorded: 25 October 2026 at approximately 10:57 AM Conditions: Storm Boelo amber warning Special moment: Rainbow near Air Spirit Main route: B9140, B908, A908, B909 and A907 👀 Watch for Air Spirit at Muirside Roundabout The rainbow near Tullibody Storm clouds and changing light Glenochil Village The B9140 towards River Spirit River Spirit at Collylands Roundabout The journey through Sauchie Lifeline on Clackmannan Road Wet roads and autumn scenery The final approach into Alloa Which Andy Scott sculpture is your favourite: Air Spirit, River Spirit, Lifeline or The Kelpies?
