Swiftair Flight 729
Swiftair Flight 729 was a fictional aviation accident that occurred on 7 August 1985. The aircraft involved was an MC-400 operating as a cargo flight. After landing at Factory Airport, the aircraft was scheduled to continue to Gulf Airport.
During the flight, the captain began behaving strangely and acting erratically. According to the fictional account, the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) captured the captain’s unusual behavior, which was reportedly linked to alcohol intoxication.
As the aircraft approached Gulf Airport and was preparing to land, both engines suddenly failed shortly before touchdown. The aircraft then lost control, became unstable, and crashed before it could complete the landing.
The captain was killed in the accident. The first officer survived with minor injuries, while the passenger on board sustained serious injuries. In total, two people survived the crash.
The accident was attributed to the captain’s alleged intoxication, the failure of both engines shortly before landing, and the subsequent loss of control.
