Did you know that Britain wasn't always an island? Thousands of years ago, a massive, lush landscape connected the UK to mainland Europe—before it was completely swallowed by the sea.
Welcome to Doggerland, Europe’s lost country. Long before modern maps existed, this thriving low-land was home to Mesolithic hunter-gatherers, rivers, forests, and abundant wildlife[cite: 1, 2, 3]. So, what happened to this forgotten world? Was it wiped out by a sudden mega-tsunami, or did rising sea levels slowly erase it from history?
In this video, we dive deep into the seismic data, archaeological discoveries, and dark secrets resting at the bottom of the North Sea

ORIGINS UNEARTHED reconstructs the deep past from the evidence we actually have: sediment cores, seismic survey, fossils and ancient DNA. Where the science is settled we say so; where it is a hypothesis we say that too.
These are reconstructions, not settled fact, and corrections are welcome in the comments.
