Week 3 of the WIAA high school football season brings the 76th meeting between the Kaukauna Ghosts and Kimberly Papermakers. In this game, the historic FVA rivalry added a brand new chapter with the inaugural “Battle for the Paddle.” The two longtime rivals battled for a new paddle-themed trophy, representing the Fox River that connects these communities in Northeast Wisconsin. The game lived up to the rivalry’s reputation, with both teams locked in a tight, low-scoring battle throughout the night. In the end, Kaukauna senior running back Muhammad Jobe found the end zone twice, providing the difference as the Ghosts secured a 14-7 victory and claimed the first-ever Battle for the Paddle trophy.
