Enid Blyton's The Mountain of Adventure - as a multi-actor audiobook play of the original Adventure series. When Philip, Dinah, Jack, Lucy-Ann, and Kiki the parrot set off on a camping trip, they have no idea that their holiday will find them trapped inside a mountain with a strange secret. It is abridged with a 70 minute running time, the story still works well with enough tension and drama. These shorter dramatizations are ideal for 'reading' in a single sitting and are great for relaxing bedtime, or car journeys with kids. Performed by Roger Blake and Elizabeth Lindsay. Recorded/released by Tempo/World Wide Audio in 1988, and it had several re-release including by Harper Collins. This recording is from a double pack released in 1994 by Speaking Books as part of their Word of Mouth 'Kids Collection.' This is shared from a recording of a cassette tape, so lots of old-fashioned tape noises, but still listenable and an enjoyable telling for childhood nostalgia and relaxation or for excitement in new generation of imaginative listeners.
