The apartment measures 218 square feet (20 square meters) with a ceiling height of 9.8 feet (3.0 meters), apartment is designed with ample storage space to meet the homeowner's needs, smart design of the foldable dining table integrated into the cabinet system saves a considerable amount of space, downside of the apartment is that the bathroom is small and doesn't have enough space for a sink, so you have to share the kitchen sink, architect suggested expanding the bathroom, but the homeowner didn't like that; he wanted to utilize the space for a private bedroom.
In many of Europe's older cities, small living spaces can be quite common, especially in cities as old and as dense as Paris, France. Over the years, we've appreciated a number of interesting small space renovations and quirky conversions in the City of Lights, ranging from a former doorman's residence, a bathroom-turned-micro-apartment, to an old garage transformed into a home for a family of four. And as anyone who's lived in a small apartment will tell you, a lot of creativity and careful attention to details is needed to maximize the space that's available, and to make all the miscellaneous pieces work together.
No matter how big your home, you want to be able to maximize your use of the space. In a larger area, this is a bit easier to do with the careful placement of furniture and organized storage solutions. However, as a home gets smaller, space-saving solutions have to get a bit more creative. One way to maximize space in a small home is through the use of levels. We see this often in lofted bed designs, but there are myriad ways to use vertical space to keep a small home organized and feel spacious. Tiny apartment featured in this post are a bit undersized, but in their design, certainly don't feel that way.
