Considered to be the Mother of African American hair care and beauty industry, Annie Turnbo Malone’s legacy reached beyond her legendary economic empire. She was a consummate servant to the people in her community and shared her wealth to such an extent some referred to her as a” Giving Freak.” This native of Illinois built the largest portion of her empire in St. Louis but returned to Illinois during her 5th business expansion. She founded the Poro College of Beauty Culture; trained over 75,000 women and men in her lifetime; and had an international sales force. Join Linda M.
