The ENTIRE Story of Zenobia of Palmyra | Desert Queen Who Declared War on Rome | Roman History

This is the complete story of Zenobia, the warrior-queen of Palmyra who seized control of a crumbling Roman frontier and built one of the most remarkable empires of the ancient world — before making the fatal decision to challenge Rome directly. We follow Zenobia from her rise to power in the Syrian desert city of Palmyra, through her lightning conquest of Roman Egypt and much of the Eastern Mediterranean, to her declaration of an independent Palmyrene Empire in open defiance of Rome. Along the way: her claimed descent from Cleopatra, her court of scholars and philosophers, the political gamble that turned a regional governor into a self-proclaimed empress — and the Roman emperor Aurelian's relentless campaign to bring her empire to its knees. Sit back, relax, and let this be the only video you need on Zenobia of Palmyra — one continuous, ambient journey through ambition, empire, and one of history's most audacious wars against Rome. 00:00:00 — Introduction 00:01:06 — A City Built Around One Spring 00:05:30 — The City Between Two Empires 00:11:13 — A City Built on Trade Money 00:16:31 — Roman Colonia, Local Power 00:21:33 — Rome on the Edge of Collapse 00:28:01 — Odaenathus: The Man Who Saved the East 00:33:35 — A Throne Seized by Violence 00:38:44 — The Conquest of Egypt 00:44:05 — An Empire From Anatolia to the Nile 00:49:22 — The Queen the Historians Remember 00:55:06 — Aurelian Marches East 01:00:48 — The Siege and the Capture 01:05:03 — The Uprising and the End of Palmyra's Independence 01:10:36 — The Queen Who Wouldn't Be Forgotten AI tools were used as assistance in the production of this video, including aspects of the creative and production process.
