Dove Mountain is a master-planned community of about 6,200 acres in the Town of Marana, just northwest of Tucson. It sits in the foothills of the Tortolita Mountains. Fun fact: "tortolita" means "little turtle dove" in Spanish, and that's where the community got its name. Most people get here from I-10 by taking Tangerine Road or Twin Peaks Road to Dove Mountain Blvd. 🚗 WHAT YOU'LL SEE ON THIS DRIVE Morning light on the Tortolita Mountains, saguaro-covered desert, golf course views, and the paved Dove Mountain Community Trail that runs along Dove Mountain Blvd. Pima County says that trail adds about 7 miles to the area's trail network. 🌵 LIVING IN DOVE MOUNTAIN ⛳ Golf: The community counts 81 golf holes across three clubs: • The Golf Club at Dove Mountain: 27 Jack Nicklaus Signature holes (the Saguaro, Tortolita and Wild Burro nines). It hosted the PGA Tour's WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship for six years. • The Gallery Golf Club: a private club with two courses, North and South. The South Course hosted the Match Play in 2007 and 2008, and LIV Golf came here in 2023. • The Highlands at Dove Mountain Golf Club: an Arthur Hills-designed course. 🥾 Hiking: The Wild Burro Trailhead is the gateway to the Tortolita Mountain trail system. The Town of Marana says that system covers about 29 miles across 10 trails. The 2,400-acre Tortolita Preserve adds about 9 more miles for hiking, biking and horseback riding. Along the trails you can look for crested saguaros, spring wildflowers, petroglyphs and old homestead ruins. 🏨 Resort: The Ritz Carlton, Dove Mountain is rated Forbes Five-Star. It has a spa, pools, a 235-foot water slide, guided hikes and stargazing under dark desert skies. 🏡 NEIGHBORHOODS IN DOVE MOUNTAIN The community's own map lists neighborhoods including Canyon Pass, Golden Barrel, Blue Agave, Boulder Pass, Los Saguaros, The Bluffs, The Preserve, The Villages, Dos Lagos, Solana, Boulder Canyon, Saguaro Reserve and The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton. There are also two active-adult communities: • Del Webb at Dove Mountain, a 55+ community with the Saguaro Recreation Center • The Highlands at Dove Mountain, an active-adult golf community Rules and age requirements are set by each community, so ask Lucy for details on any neighborhood you like. 🎒 SCHOOLS Dove Mountain is served by the Marana Unified School District. Dove Mountain CSTEM K-8 is a district school focused on computer science, technology, engineering and math, located on W. Moore Road in the community.
