What does bear meat actually taste like? Join us on a Tallinn food tour as we discover what to eat in Estonia—from breakfast at a historic café and traditional Estonian flavors to Russian cuisine and one of the most unusual foods we have ever tried!
Our food adventure begins with breakfast in Tallinn before visiting Café Maiasmokk, the oldest operating café in Estonia. We then explore more of the city’s food scene, try local flavors and head into Tallinn’s beautiful Old Town for a completely different experience.
At Troika, a traditional Russian restaurant in the heart of Tallinn, we discover Russian cuisine and finally taste the dish we had been waiting for: bear meat! But was it actually good, and what did it taste like?
Before ending our Tallinn food tour, we also try kohuke, one of Estonia’s most popular sweet snacks. It’s a small bar made from sweet curd cheese and covered in chocolate—almost like a tiny refrigerated cheesecake.
If you’re planning a trip to Tallinn and wondering what food to try in Estonia, this video will give you some delicious—and rather unusual—ideas!
