I tried recreating the perfect 1950s Hollywood date at Pullen Park, with vintage clothes, a romantic picnic, a carousel, an old-fashioned train, and my husband dressed like it was 1957. Growing up, I watched old Hollywood movies with my grandma and dreamed about those impossibly romantic scenes. So at 47, I decided it was finally my turn to be the woman in the movie. It didn’t look exactly like Hollywood. It was sillier, sweatier, and a lot more us.
