Along Gerrard Street East, the route passes through lively neighbourhoods, intersections, shops, residential areas and everyday traffic before gradually connecting toward the DVP. Autumn is beginning to settle over the city. The air feels cooler, the trees are slowly changing colour, and hints of yellow and gold are starting to appear along the streets and beside the highway. The combination of urban traffic, neighbourhood scenery and early fall colours gives this route a very distinct Toronto atmosphere. Once entering the DVP northbound, the scenery changes again.
