I Don’t Need the Sony FX5 - I Want These 10 Features Instead

Do I need the Sony FX5? Honestly, probably not. Modern cameras from Sony, Canon, Nikon, RED and Blackmagic already produce extraordinary images. We keep getting more latitude, higher bit depths, faster frame rates, larger sensors, better low-light performance and ever more resolution but these upgrades are becoming increasingly incremental, and the finished footage is often remarkably difficult to tell apart. So rather than making another conventional camera wishlist, I’ve come up with 10 features I’d genuinely love manufacturers to develop. Smarter multi-camera control. Production-based presets. Operator recognition. Find My Camera and remote locking. Intelligent autofocus priorities and several other ideas designed around how filmmakers actually work. Some may be ambitious. Others feel entirely achievable. But all of them would excite me more than another small bump in resolution or dynamic range. Which idea would be most useful to you—and what feature would you add?
