13k km down the road and still going… Doing 13000 km on the Dunlop Trailmax Mission Tires, I think I am able to share my experience with you. 🔴It would be AWESOME if you could show your support by both watching my videos and subscribing to my channel if you have not already done so. Many thanks for your support! http://bit.ly/spokewanderer Now there is/was a big hype on the Trailmax Misson Tires for being a proper 50/50 solution that can do almost any riding conditions. Well, I am not sure about that. Ok, I am a rather off road Novice and not a PRO and yes I did not do a lot of off pavement riding. Now the view times I was riding off the beaten path, they did well. Shallow gravel and dry forest roads – No issue at all. One there is a little mud, they are rather slippery. So not really a 50/50 tire, rater a 70/30. What did I like about the Dunlop Trailmax Missions? Good on road behavior, with very little noise from the knobbies. They handle very well on road, enough comfort, changing lanes, grooves in the road, pot holes and the stick, considering the hard rubber compound is great. Once riding in rain, you better slow it down a notch. They are not the fastest rain tires, but will give you a good feedback before they slip, so they are good to control. Another positive point is certainly the even wear and high mileage. After 13k km (8k miles) they can do easily another 6k km or more. Now being in the Middle East, current temperatures in December are around 30 degree Celsius in average (86 F), so perfect temperature to ride. What is not so good. They are on the rather pricy side at first, what will be compensated by the high mileage. Riding on little higher speed, above 150 km/h they get a bit unstable. Ok, most of the time I have my soft luggage on, so this will also contribute to the instability. I tried a little soft surface and they are not good at all. I don’t dare to ride into more sandy areas, due to the lack of grip with the big knobbies. Due to the heavy duty construction, it might be a challenge to mount these tires without the help of a tire mounting machine. So would I mount them again? Yes I would. But I guess I am going to try some tires that can do a little more off road, so to have this extra bit of confidence once riding off pavement. Well, this is my own opinion and you might feel them differently. This video is full of interesting info, news and interesting facts.
