Train heads up the wrong line!

On the 19th June 2011, Tyne and Wear Metro services were closed between Byker and Tynemouth for Modernisation Works. Also, the service was suspended between Tynemouth and Whitley Bay due to vandalism. Metro services were held up at Tynemouth, and were brought from the Out Line to the In Line where they proceeded to Tynemouth at a precautionary speed along the In Line towards Whitley Bay where the train would terminate. Then the driver would change ends and then bring the train back out to Monkseaton on the In Line where the service would continue on its normal route to South Shields.
