SEVENTY FOUR MILLION POUND ACADEMY STAR AND A MIDFIELD RESCUE PLAN, NEWCASTLE ARE BACK

Newcastle United are on the move for Lyon midfielder Tyler Morton, and the battle with Nottingham Forest and Liverpool is heating up. Meanwhile, academy graduate Lewis Miley has become the most valuable player at St James' Park, and the doubters who tipped us for relegation are being proved wrong. In this video, we break down the two biggest stories at Newcastle United right now. First, Tyler Morton. According to former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, Newcastle are the long term favourites to sign the twenty three year old Lyon midfielder. Morton left Liverpool to get regular football in France, and he has impressed in Ligue 1 ever since. Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown says Newcastle scouts have been watching him regularly. With Liverpool also keeping tabs on him, is this another transfer battle we cannot afford to lose? We look at what Morton would bring to our midfield after a tough summer, and why the summer window could be our moment. Second, Lewis Miley. Newcastle were tipped for a rapid decline after Eddie Howe left, but Matthias Jaissle has inherited a gem. Miley has started every Premier League match this season, he sits in the club's new five man leadership group alongside Dan Burn, Joelinton, Malick Thiaw and Yoane Wissa, and the CIES Football Observatory now values him at up to eighty seven million euros, around seventy four million pounds. Not bad for a lad who cost us nothing. Kieran Trippier once called him a future captain of this club. Is that day closer than anyone thinks? We also cover Dan Burn taking the armband, the new leadership group, Yoane Wissa's revival under Jaissle, and why this young Newcastle side has every reason to be excited about the future. Drop your thoughts in the comments. Should Newcastle go all in for Tyler Morton? Should Lewis Miley be handed the captaincy now? We want to hear from the Toon Army.
