Can Tails Save Sonic From A Stone Curse? | Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog | S1E23 | Grounder the Genius | Classic Sonic Full Episode Dr. Robotnik creates a genius chip so he would have enough brains to rule Mobius, however a computer hacker got hold of it which then the chip landed inside Grounder causing him to be smart. Dr. Ivo Robotnik develops an advanced super-intelligence program to increase his own brain power and finally defeat Sonic. However, an adolescent mole computer whiz and hacker named Hacker intercepts and steals the program from Robotnik's mainframe. Desperate to get his data back, Robotnik sends his robot henchmen, Scratch and Grounder, to track down the hacker. During the chaotic chase, a twist of fate occurs: the microchip containing the supreme genius program falls out and is accidentally installed directly into Grounder's internal system. Instead of remaining Robotnik's bumbling robot henchman, Grounder instantly transforms into a refined, hyper-intelligent tactician. He renames himself "Dr. Grounder," deactivates his own off-switch so Robotnik cannot override him, and demotes Robotnik to a dungeon prisoner. With his new massive intellect, Grounder easily sees through Sonic's disguises, invents a powerful petrifying ray, and successfully turns Sonic into a solid stone statue. Realizing that a smart Grounder is far more dangerous than Robotnik ever was, Hacker and Sonic's sidekick, Tails, must team up to save the day. In a clever counter-operation, they manage to outwit the newly minted mechanical tyrant and replace the high-level intelligence chip inside Grounder with a basic chip, returning Grounder to his usual silly self while Hacker deletes the rest of the genius program for good.
