At 65, Mr. Dung rarely returns to shore. He spends most of his time in a small hut on Vietnam's northern tidal flats, where clam farming and fishing are part of everyday life.
Before sunrise, 70-year-old Mr. Thong travels 3.7 miles from the mainland to join the coastal farming community. As the tide rises, the men catch fresh fish and prepare a traditional local meal. When the water recedes, Mr. Dung repairs the protective nets around his clam beds and removes dead clams from the sand.
Life on Vietnam's tidal flats follows the rhythm of the sea. From early morning fishing and clam farming to sharing tea with friends, every moment reveals a simple way of life shaped by the changing tides.
Join us at Vietnam Coastal Life to experience the everyday lives of Vietnamese clam farmers through natural sounds, real moments, and peaceful coastal scenery.
