On June 25–26, 1876, Lakota, Northern Cheyenne and Arapaho warriors defended a large encampment near the Little Bighorn River in present-day Montana. Custer's five-company command was defeated, while other elements of the 7th Cavalry survived. This True Valor documentary explores the treaty disputes, the Black Hills gold rush, battlefield movements, Indigenous accounts and the consequences that followed. The film also examines how surviving evidence and later mythology shaped the story remembered today. VISUAL DISCLOSURE: This documentary includes AI-assisted historical reconstructions, identified archival material and explanatory maps. Reconstructed scenes are illustrative, not authentic recordings. Some battlefield movements remain debated.
