Big hedge cut

That's right, I am back at Conwy Water Gardens! After 10 years of waiting the water gardens is finally under new ownership, and the new owners asked if I could return to help them sort it out. Now it is going to take them a while to get settled, and whilst I know some of their plans nothing it set in stone, so I am starting by getting things back open and accessible. After spending a day clearing the carpark (not recorded) I moved on to the main path down to the nature trail, I don't think this has been cut since last year so it was almost impassable in places. As I am not sure if the new owners will be keeping the laurels I did not want to spend too much time cutting them properly, but I did want to make sure there was proper access to the paths and still maintain the look of the hedging. As it is still the school holidays there were a lot of people around, whilst it would have been best to wait until a closed day to cut the hedges there is just too much to catch up on, so I started from the top of the path working in small sections clearing as I went, trying not to block access too much. After several hours and several bags of trimmings later the path was accessible again, if you had not seen it before you wouldn't have known anything had been done. Whilst there is still a lot to do in this area I am trying to focus on the worst bits first, so I am currently jumping from place to place trying to get things back under control. The next few years are going to be interesting for the water gardens, with some much needed investment going into the site we should soon see some improvements, I am sure there are going to be some big projects coming up.
