If you're excited to create something special, hit that subscribe button and let the crafting festivities begin. — Materials: 1 - Round 36 peg knitting loom 100g - worsted weight red yarn 100g - worsted weight white yarn 1 - Large pom pom maker 1 - Loom hook 1 - Loom Pen (optional) 1 - Scissors 1 - Yarn Needle — PATTERN STEPS 00:19 - Casting On: starting the yarn on the pegs. Thread 2x strands of white yarn through the loom pen, tie the ends in a slip knot and attach the yarn to the anchor peg. Wrap the yarn around each peg, in a clockwise motion, one-at-a-time. 01:07 - Knit the Brim! Using the white yarn, wrap a second row on each peg. Use the loom hook to pull the bottom wraps up and over the top row, dropping them off the peg toward the inside of the loom. Keep knitting until you have 5" of fabric. 02:04 - Fold the Brim. Follow the line of each peg to the edge. Pull each edge loop up onto the pegs one-by-one, make sure not to twist the fabric. Knit the loops together by lifting bottom loop up and over the second row. You now have one row of loops on each peg and the brim edge is joined to the last knit row. 02:53 - Joining & knitting with red yarn. Cut the white yarn leaving a 6" tail. Thread 2x strands of red yarn through the loom pen. Tie the ends in a slip knot around the anchor peg. Knit using the red yarn until you have 8" of knitted red fabric. 03:39 - Taking the hat off the loom. Cut the red yarn leaving a 20-30" tail. Using the yarn needle, thread the yarn up through each loop on the pegs one at a time, pulling the stitches off the pegs as you go. 04:54 - Cinch the top closed. Pull the yarn tails until the top is closed. Use the yarn needle to thread the tails to the inside of the hat and through the top stitches a few times before tying the them into a knot. Trim the extra yarn. 06:38 - Weave the ends in. Use the yarn needle to sew the yarn tails into the fabric on the inside of the hat. Sew it in within the sections matching the color of the tails. Trace a line of stitches with the yarn needle to keep the finishing invisible from the front side. 07:36 - Make the pom pom! Fill both halves of the large pom pom maker with white yarn. Cut along the middle groove all the way around the pom pom maker. Cut a 15" length of yarn, wrap it around the center of the pom pom maker and tie it tightly in 2 double knots. Open the pom pom maker and trim until round, don't trim the two yarn ties though! 09:03 - Attach the pom pom. Thread the yarn ties through the top of the hat to the inside of the crown. Tie the yarn ties in firm knots and thread the yarn tails through the cinched crown stitches. Be careful that the yarn ties aren't visible on the outside of the hat.
