Sen. Kennedy SILENCES Top General — $300 Billion Sitting There and Nobody Moved. In a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing, Senator John Kennedy confronts top U.S. military officials with eleven minutes and no patience for prepared statements. Three hundred billion dollars in frozen Russian assets — not a cent of it American taxpayer money — sitting in European financial institutions. Available. Untouched. The general sitting across from him had no idea the money existed. Kennedy then presents what Ukraine has accomplished without it. Over a hundred strikes on Russian energy infrastructure — not near the border, inside Russia — since January. Roughly forty percent of Russia's oil export capacity eliminated using drones that cost a fraction of what Russia spends defending against them. Then he turns to Taiwan. Under the Taiwan Relations Act, the United States is already legally committed to providing Taiwan with sufficient defensive arms to resist a coercive attack. That is not a proposal. That is existing law. The admiral's answer on selling Taiwan the weapons it has requested: there is "a full calculus of all the levers of power being negotiated." Kennedy entered that room with eleven minutes. He left having exposed something that days of prepared testimony couldn't have hidden: the gap between what America's military knows and what the moment demands.
