I have over 600 houseplants in my collection, and there are some that I absolutely LOVE growing… but would I recommend you buy them? Absolutely not! 😬🌿 Some of the most beautiful houseplants come with some rather unfortunate surprises. From dramatic Calatheas and painfully slow-growing tropical plants to enormous Monsteras and rare houseplants that demand far more than you might expect, sometimes loving a plant doesn't mean you'd recommend it to anyone else! In this video, I'm sharing some of the houseplants I adore (or have adored in the past), despite their frustrating care requirements, unusual growth habits, ridiculous demands and occasionally painful consequences. Yes, one of them actually stabbed me. 😂 We'll talk about the beautiful but temperamental Calathea orbifolia, the challenges of growing Dracula orchids, the painfully slow Amydrium medium, my ongoing battles with Philodendron luxurians, and why even the beloved Monstera deliciosa might not be the best houseplant for everyone. I'll also share why I still love plants like Philodendron Burle Marx and the rather extraordinary Trevesia burckii, despite everything they put me through! This isn't a list of bad houseplants. Far from it! It's an honest look at why some gorgeous tropical plants aren't necessarily suitable for every home or every plant collector. 🌿 *Now I want to hear from you!* What's a houseplant you absolutely LOVE but would hesitate to recommend to somebody else? Is it difficult to care for, ridiculously slow-growing, constantly attracting pests, or just a complete nightmare to accommodate? Tell me in the comments, because I suspect we all have at least one! 😂 💚 *Enjoyed the video?* 👍 Give it a thumbs up if you enjoyed my slightly questionable plant recommendations. 🌿 Subscribe to HouseplantyGoodness for more honest houseplant discussions, tropical plant care, unusual houseplants and the occasional plant-related disaster. 📲 Share this video with a fellow plant collector, especially one who keeps buying beautiful plants without considering what they're getting themselves into! 📸 *Find me on Instagram:*   / trojanking9   Thanks for watching, and happy growing! 💚 Chapters: 00:00 Intro 01:34 The beautiful nightmare 04:41 The environmental diva 08:33 The plant that takes forever 10:38 The deceptively demanding plant 13:07 The space-consuming monster 16:14 The plant with an unfortunate habit 18:07 The one I'd still buy again 21:56 Final thoughts Merch store: https://houseplanty-goodness.creator-... #houseplantygoodness #Houseplants #PlantCollection #TropicalPlants #RareHouseplants #PlantCare Jos Crowdfunding https://www.ulule.com/captain-aroid-s...
