These are 10 forgotten British hay balers from the golden age of farming — machines that were tough, innovative, and in some cases almost completely disappeared. From the unusual sideways-baling David Brown Albion and compact Bamford BL30 to the New Holland Hayliner 274, Super Hayliner 276 and 286, New Holland 376, and legendary International Harvester 440 and 445, these machines defined British haymaking. We’ll also uncover the award-winning Bamford BL50 and Massey Ferguson 124 with its famous Suretie knotter. But number one is the incredible Welsh-built Jones Super Star, a machine that crossed the Atlantic and was sold in America as the Allis-Chalmers 300. These are the forgotten balers that shaped farming history.
