Oregon | Californian Finprints

PT Chegamos um pouco apreensivos aos Estados Unidos. Sejamos sinceros: o país não vive seu melhor momento, e seu representante nos indigna todas as vezes que se pronuncia. Mas, se aprendemos alguma coisa nessa viagem, é que não devemos resumir um país inteiro ao que vemos na mídia. Com a mente aberta, nos jogamos na linda costa oeste. Já fazia meses que não surfávamos. Tínhamos fome de surfe. Então deixamos alguns pontos turísticos de lado, em busca de ondas. Em Oregon, encontramos ondas épicas e secretas. Ondas que nem podiam ser filmadas, com um forte localismo protegendo o pico. Encontramos também natureza selvagem, pessoas gentis e uma beleza natural que dispensa edição. Mas foi na clássica Califórnia que surfamos sem freio. Finalmente comprei meu novo longboard (Lud), feito pelo shaper local Nick Melanson. Foi amor à primeira vista. E, com uma nova máquina, o surfe saiu fácil, prazeroso, conectado com o oceano. E não podemos deixar de mencionar o espetacular Parque Nacional Yosemite, próximo à icônica cidade de São Francisco, onde encontramos amigos de longa data e fomos recebidos com muito carinho. Muita coisa importante não foi gravada, como a compra da minha nova prancha, meu aniversário, encontros com amigos e a festa de Halloween. Mas isso não quer dizer que esses momentos não ficaram marcados. E por isso quis mencioná-los. Sem mais delongas, espero que gostem do vídeo. E uma boa viagem! EN We arrived in the United States a little apprehensive. Let’s be honest: the country is not going through its best moment, and its representative outrages us every time he speaks. But if we’ve learned anything on this trip, it’s that we shouldn’t reduce an entire country to what we see in the media. With an open mind, we threw ourselves into the beautiful West Coast. It had been months since we last surfed. We were hungry for waves. So we left some tourist spots behind in search of waves. In Oregon, we found epic and secret waves. Waves that couldn’t even be filmed, with a strong localism protecting the spot. We also found wild nature, kind people and landscapes that need no editing. But it was in the classic California that we surfed without holding back. I finally bought my new longboard (Lud), shaped by the local Nick Melanson. It was love at first sight. And with a new machine under my feet, surfing felt easy, enjoyable, connected with the ocean. And we can’t forget to mention the spectacular Yosemite National Park, close to the iconic city of San Francisco, where we met up with old friends and were welcomed with so much warmth. A lot of important things weren’t filmed, like buying my new board, my birthday, meeting friends and the Halloween party. But that doesn’t mean those moments weren’t special.
