Why does your rescue dog follow you everywhere, even into the bathroom? They may enjoy being close to you. They may also be learning the routines of a new home, or finding it hard to relax when you leave the room.
The clue is often what happens between those moments of following. Can your dog settle while you work or move around the house? What happens when you step away? And do they react differently when you head toward the front door?
In this video, I share what I’ve learned from 16 years with rescue dogs, including my own dog, Storm. We’ll look at the difference between calm shadowing and signs of distress, what you can observe at home, and when a change in behavior deserves extra attention.
