On September 29, 2023, Las Vegas police stopped Duane "Keffe D" Davis on a morning walk and charged him with the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur. For 27 years nobody had been charged. In the end, the strongest evidence was his own voice: a 2008 police interview, a TV documentary, a memoir and years of on-camera interviews in which he described the night, the white Cadillac and the gun. Using the LVMPD body-camera video of his arrest, the recordings played to the jury, the trial testimony, the verdict and the sentencing, this is how Keffe D talked himself into a life sentence. 0:00 The arrest 1:42 The Tyson fight 2:10 The lobby fight 2:43 Flamingo & Koval 3:53 No arrest 4:16 He starts talking 5:26 September 2023 6:37 The trial 9:43 The verdict 10:42 The sentence Sources: LVMPD body-camera video (via Law&Crime); court pool footage as broadcast by ABC7, 8 News Now, Law&Crime and USA TODAY; ABC News.
