A New Beginning at Dovercourt | Kindertransport | 2D Animation

Silueta created this animated film to bring the story of the Kindertransport children at Dovercourt Bay Holiday Camp to life through the eyes of Leslie Brent, a young Jewish refugee who escaped Nazi Germany. On his last day at the camp, Leslie looks back on the fear and uncertainty of leaving his family behind, alongside the friendships, kindness, and small moments of joy that helped him begin a new life in Britain. Combining expressive 2D character animation with realistic, historically inspired backgrounds, Silueta recreates the world of Dovercourt through intimate, character-driven storytelling. By balancing moments of warmth and humor with the emotional weight of Leslie’s experience, the film transforms an important chapter of Holocaust history into a deeply human story of loss, resilience, and hope.
