YouTube just announced BIG changes to the YouTube Partner Program — and if you're a small or growing creator working toward ad revenue, we need to talk. 😳 Starting February 1, 2027, YouTube is changing the eligibility requirements for new creators seeking ad and YouTube Premium revenue sharing. We're talking about: 🔴 8,000 qualified watch hours instead of 4,000 🔴 20 MILLION qualified Shorts views instead of 10 million 🟢 Existing YPP creators aren't being required to meet the new 8,000-hour threshold 🟢 Lower YPP eligibility for fan funding and Shopping remains unchanged 🟢 New earning opportunities, including Premium Lite 🟢 Additional changes affecting Shorts creators Tonight we're sitting down as a crafting creator community to separate what YouTube actually announced from some of the headlines you may be seeing—and talk about what these changes could mean for small, growing AND established creators. If you're working toward monetization right now, how much harder will that 8,000-hour requirement make the journey? If you're already monetized, what—if anything—do these changes mean for you? And could some of YouTube's OTHER monetization changes actually create better earning opportunities for established creators? I'm not coming to you as a YouTube guru — I'm coming to you as a fellow creator and small business owner who has built a channel, watched YouTube change over the years, and believes we should understand what's happening to the platforms we're building our businesses on. So grab your drink, pull up a chair and let's have a REAL creator conversation. 💜 💬 *LET'S TALK:* Are you currently monetized on YouTube? If not, how close are you to reaching the current requirements? Does 8,000 watch hours change how you feel about starting or growing a YouTube channel? 👇 OFFICIAL INFORMATION FROM YOUTUBE 📌 YouTube Official Blog: https://tinyurl.com/3vchdchx 📌 YouTube Help — YouTube Partner Program: https://tinyurl.com/3vydau3c 📌 Creator Insider official video: https://tinyurl.com/2cx4ut7b YouTube Community - YPP earning opportunities & eligibility changes: https://tinyurl.com/4mwbvund ⚠️ *NOTE:* YouTube policies and program details can change.
