Two-Time Grammy Award winner and six-time Grammy Award-nominated recording artist Ann Nesby is one of the defining voices at the intersection of gospel, soul, and R&B.
For more than three decades, Nesby has inspired audiences around the world with her unmistakable voice, powerful storytelling, and unwavering commitment to creating music that uplifts, encourages, and transforms lives.
Following the release of her acclaimed 2025 album ANNiversary, Ann Nesby continues her extraordinary musical journey with her powerful new gospel single “AMEN,” arriving August 14, 2026, on all major digital streaming platforms.
Written and produced by Robert “RL” Huggar of NEXT and Brian “B-Flat” Cook, “AMEN” delivers a timeless message of faith, hope, and perseverance, reminding listeners that even during life’s most difficult moments, they are never alone.
The inspiration behind “AMEN” reflects the very foundation of Nesby’s remarkable career.
Built on a lifetime of faith and a deep connection to gospel music, the song represents a full circle moment for an artist whose voice has always carried messages of encouragement, healing, and spiritual strength.
“AMEN was inspired by the reality that everyone faces challenges in life,” shares Ann Nesby. “There are moments when circumstances can make you feel like giving up, but that is exactly when you have to lean into your faith. This song is a reminder that God is always with us. No matter what you are facing, don’t quit, don’t lose hope, and never stop believing.”
Before becoming an internationally celebrated recording artist, Nesby developed her musical foundation through the legendary James Cleveland Workshop of America, where she was surrounded by some of gospel music’s most influential pioneers, including James Cleveland, Albertina Walker, and Donald Lawrence.
Those formative experiences shaped her understanding of ministry through music and established the foundation for a career dedicated to inspiring others through song.
That gospel foundation led Nesby to worldwide recognition as the lead vocalist of the Grammy Award-winning ensemble Sounds of Blackness.
Through her powerful vocals and heartfelt performances, she helped bring contemporary gospel to audiences around the world through landmark recordings including “Optimistic,” “I Believe,” and “I’m Going All the Way.”
