Razer - Tested on Animals (2006)

A compilation of promos made in 2006 advertising the channel Razer, now known as MTV2 Canada. The reason why I made this video is because I am currently obsessed with Happy Tree Friends (always have been since I was a kid) and the fact that it not only aired on a channel I barely watched as a kid (the only I could remember about Razer is that it aired Buffy) but also aired on CityTV (during the time when both channels were owned by CHUM Limited). I didn’t know if they aired the internet shorts, although I vaguely remember them (alongside Thugs on Film, remember that?) airing on Bite sometime after Razer became MTV2, or if they aired the TV series or both. Then I remembered watching a promo from the website of Strut Creative, the team behind the promos as well as Razer’s short-lived rebrand in 2007. The promo had a clip from Happy Tree Friends and the tagline “Razer, tested on animals.” My mind thought the promo had a clip from “Spin Fun Knowing You” but looking back on it, it had clips from “Wrong Side of the Tracks” “Party Animal” and “Ipso Fatso”. Also, if you’re wondering about the shouting of the titles of the second promo, I would like to mention that Strut also did branding for Razer’s Kamikaze anime block. What else can I say but yikes.
