Michel Pepe ~ Transphonie I (1987) • [new age / ambient]

this is the first album of monsieur Pépé which was later reissued under "Visions" title. according to info on the cassette, it was recorded in september 1987 in Paris and the edition was privately pressed by Michel himself, with Transphonie II and III tapes coming out the next year (i will upload them as well). Korg M1R, Wavestation and Roland D50 are mentioned in the reissue j-card, while also stating that everything was recorded in 1991 ~ so i guess this first version of the album might have had another set of the instruments or maybe it's more raw, but i don't have Visions tape to directly compare. nonetheless, it's already a very characteristic Pépé's music ~ gently swaying melodies and chiming textures, very lightweight sound which takes you up into the dreaming spheres. very new-age and very french ambient music for relaxed evenings.
