Why do marriages fail?

Growing up, I wondered why marriages failed. I hated the idea and concept of marriage and vowed I would never have anything to do with it. We just got married and whilst I don’t claim to have all the answers, there are a few things I have observed and learnt which I would like to share in the hopes that someone might be helped.
