Minimal Lighting, Maximum Impact | Portrait Photography Simplified with Gary Hughes

If you’ve ever felt like you need a studio full of lights to create professional portraits, this tutorial proves otherwise. In this Adorama TV episode, Gary Hughes demonstrates how to create refined, dimensional portraits using just one Flashpoint XPLOR 600 Pro TTL and two simple reflector panels. By bouncing the flash off a wall and shaping the light with silver and black reflectors, he shows how minimal gear can still produce polished, professional results. This simple portrait lighting setup is ideal for headshots, branding sessions, and editorial portraits. Instead of adding more equipment, Gary focuses on controlling and shaping the light you already have to create depth, contrast, and separation. In this video, viewers will learn: • How to bounce flash for soft, directional light • How to shape and control light using reflector panels • How to increase contrast without adding more strobes • Why simpler lighting setups often produce stronger portraits SUBSCRIBE AND BE PART OF THE ADORAMA FAMILY: ➥    / adoramatv   __________________________________ Be the first to shop our great deals and sales by signing up for emails from Adorama! https://www.adorama.com/MyAccount/Login 🔷 Save 5% Every Day† or Special Financing* On purchases of $199+ with the Adorama Edge Credit Card.
