/!\ Stars of the City is a Fan-Made TTRPG derived from Project Moon's "Library of Ruina". Neither work is developed by me. /!\ Information about the TTRPG can be found at :    • Stars of the City (A Project Moon TTRPG)   The source document can be found at : https://docs.google.com/document/d/1B... GitHub Repo for the project can be found at : https://github.com/DexFire1115/JSON-I... My purpose is to create an automatic combat engine based primarily off the rules of Stars of the City TTRPG, however also being loosely designed so as to permit other TTRPG implementations (most notably, my own system: Planus Rolecall). Source code for the engine will be provided when notable work has been achieved. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Text below is copied from the first stream of this series : For the past year, I've been working extensively on a TTRPG system known as "Planus Rolecall", with a unique "Game-Time Based" dynamic turn order system and a variety of other unusual mechanics. One of its biggest flaws has always been attempting to integrate high-complexity mechanics into a traditionally straightforward human-calculated setting. Thus, I've been meaning to develop a dedicated automatic digital engine for the system that alleviates much of the micromanagement that was previously required. Alas, I am very unmotivated and terrified of tackling such a large project which requires a certain level of system design perfectionism that stales out any development attempts. What to do? Well, Stars of the City is a mechanically similar game (though without a lot of the fluff that makes my system so unusually cumbersome) that, to my knowledge, does not have a dedicated automatic processor despite a high level of easily macro-able operations. It also, in its base form, does not possess one of the most difficult parts of TTRPG development: positional mechanics which often require a spacial visualization. So, over the month of August, I aim to complete a functional Stars of the City Interactive Engine (SotCIE) which is scalable for homebrew content and even more artistic endeavors such as animations and sound effects! All this would serve as the foundation of the final Planus Rolecall system and a comprehensive test of my coding abilities... Though, said abilities are quite lacking as I have very little experience in the Godot Engine. So, be sure to watch and laugh at all my coding fails!
