Memel – Monuments, Memories, and a Peaceful Vibe! Ep 653

We headed back into the Free State from KwaZulu-Natal to visit the small town of Memel. As we drove into town, we could feel the calm and peaceful vibe of a quiet Sunday morning. We stopped at the beautiful monument in front of the church and took a quiet walk around the church building since the service was ongoing at the time. Afterwards we took a drive to a place once known as Die Opstal to have a look around. Although the Memel Hotel was closed and we couldn’t go inside, it still appeared to be in operation. As we passed the school, we noticed more monuments commemorating the Great Trek. I’m really glad we had the chance to visit Memel.
