I wanted this to be an easy recommend. This is my review of Part 1 — episodes 1 through 12. The opening is interesting. After that I spent a lot of time comparing it to Brotherhood and coming up short: character designs, the Higashi Village attack, Daemon names, the modern-world tutorial, and writing that keeps pulling me out of the scene. What did you think of the first half of this season? Did it click for you, or were you in the same boat?
