What is Chronic Kidney Disease in Telugu | Dr. Shamsunder Rao | Mythri Hospital Mehdipatnam The persisting disease of the kidneys leads to renal failure. The most regular treatment for kidney failure is Hemodialysis. It is done in a dialysis center also named in-center hemodialysis. The kidneys purify the waste & excess fluid from the blood. As kidneys fail, waste accumulates. Symptoms develop slowly and are not specific to the disease. Medication helps to manage symptoms for a short period. Few people don't have any symptoms at all but are diagnosed by a lab test. In later stages, filtering the blood with a machine (dialysis) or transplant may be required. Causes of chronic disease include: Diabetes High blood pressure Heart disease Smoking Obesity Family history of kidney disease Abnormal kidney structure Symptoms of kidney disease include: Fatigue Itching Pimples in your hands, legs, or feet Shortness of breath Decreased appetite Puffiness around your eyes Five different stages of chronic kidney diseases (CKD), are: Stage 1: Mild kidney damage with an Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR) above 90 milliliters or greater per minute Symptoms: Control blood pressure Don not smoke Stay a healthy weight Stage 2: Mild damage with 60 to 89 milliliters/ minute Symptoms: Control blood pressure Don not smoke Stay a healthy weight Stage 3: Moderate damage with 30 to 59 milliliters per minute. Stage 3 is again divided into 2 stages i.e., 3a (eGFR between 45 and 59) & 3b (eGFR between 30 and 44) Symptoms: Back pain Peeing more than normal Bone disease Low RBC High blood pressure Stage 4: Severe damage with 15 to 29 milliliters per minute, as this is the last stage of kidney failure. Symptoms: Back pain Peeing more than normal Bone disease Low RBC (Red blood cells) High blood pressure Stage 5: kidney failure with less than 15 milliliters per minute, a stage at which the kidneys are no longer working which makes you sick. Symptoms: Muscle cramps Not feeling hungry Trouble in breathing & sleeping Itching Back pain, etc., Chronic kidney disease has no cure. Treatment consists of measures to help in handling signs and symptoms, lower complications, and slow advancement of the disease. If your kidneys are severely damaged, you need treatment for end-stage kidney disease. A urine test is one of the best ways to test for chronic disease (CKD) and estimates kidney damage which finds out the existence of albumin.
