🧰 The guide to the 11 gas stations German mechanics say to avoid: https://thegermanmethod.netlify.app Never Fill Up at These 11 Gas Stations — A German Mechanic Explains Why Your tank seems to empty faster than it should, the check engine light comes on for no clear reason, and the shop wants a few hundred dollars to "clean the fuel system." You start wondering if the gas itself is the problem. Often it is not the gas. It is the habits at the pump and a few small parts that cost almost nothing to check and fix at home. In this video I show you the checks we did in my shop in Stuttgart whenever a customer came in complaining about fuel, rough idling, or a light on the dash. We looked at the fuel cap seal first, because a cracked gasket lets vapor escape and the engine learns to compensate. We checked the vapor canister hose for cracks. And we explained why topping off the tank after the nozzle clicks off is one of the worst habits you can have, because it floods the charcoal canister and makes the car run worse. Here's the thing: a new fuel cap costs about fifteen dollars, and a fuel system cleaning at the dealership can cost hundreds. Most drivers pay that money because nobody ever showed them the cheap part that was failing. Every fix you do yourself is money that stays in your pocket. I also tell you the honest part, the myths about special fuel additives and "premium for everything" that do very little for an ordinary car. I saved the one habit for the end, because it decides whether the rest of the checks actually hold. Disclaimer: This video is for general information only.
