Building My Dream Tiny Shop...One Vintage Tool at a Time

There's something about old American tools that just feels right, the hammered green/blue/grey paint, the smell and of course the quality. In this video I finally install a toolbox I've been searching for—a 1950's Craftsman 10-drawer heritage top. After giving it a careful ASMR-style cleanup, it officially replaces the newer (but still vintage) Craftsman toolbox that has served me well for years. But swapping toolboxes turned into a much bigger project. I rebuilt the wall behind it with a hand bead-rolled quilted diamond metal panels, designed and plasma-cut a custom fire extinguisher holder using Fusion 360 and my ArcDroid CNC, and even 3D printed a retro double-sided illuminated Volkswagen shop sign to finish off the space. My shop may be tiny, but every square inch has to earn its place. This upgrade makes the workspace more functional while keeping the vintage character I love.
