Welcome to my 200th video!!! Over the last 2 and a half years I have uploaded 200 videos! Mostly lifts (as my channel name would suggest!) but a couple of trains, buses and Roblox videos too! A huge thank you to everyone who has watched my videos, liked, commented and subscribed!!!! I really appreciate everyone who visits my channel!!!! I have loads of plans for more great videos so stay tuned! Which is your favourite of my first 199 videos? Let me know in the comments! For the 200th video on this channel I visit a very special lift! The Paternoster is a very rare type of lift. This lift is a non stop cyclical lift which never stops moving! There are no features such as buttons or doors, lift users simply jump on and off the lift! Lift cars cycle around the top and bottom as shown in this video! The advantage of a paternoster lift is very quick travel between close floors. Without the need for doors to open and close, and the lift to stop and start, this makes travel very efficient! Multiple lift cars also mean many people can travel at the same time! The main advantage of course though is that these lifts are unique and very very interesting to see and ride! This Paternoster lift in the Arts Tower at the University of Sheffield is one of only 3 working Paternosters in the UK, and is the tallest working Paternoster in Europe! The lift serves floors LG, G, M and 1 - 18. 38 lift cars cycle around the building constantly with each having capacity for 2 people, meaning 76 people can travel at any one time! This lift is open during weekdays of university term time. You can visit it during these times! I am not sure whether it opens on weekends though or outside of term time. Check this page for more information on the lift and also notifications if it is closed for maintenance. https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/efm/teams... In this video I film the lift from the outside, then a long ride, including over the top and underneath. I also film the information board located at the ground floor. Pause the video to read that!
