Gold Mining in Pakistan is real, but here is the most important thing to understand: gold cannot be found everywhere. You should never believe that every mountain, every rock, or every river contains gold. Natural gold is associated with specific geological zones, mineralized rocks, and river sediments where gold has been eroded and concentrated over time.
In this video, we explain How to Find Gold in Pakistan, including real gold prospecting techniques, mountain gold, river gold, placer gold, gold-bearing rocks, and the geological signs that can help identify promising areas.
Pakistan has several reported gold-bearing and gold-potential regions. In Balochistan, major copper-gold deposits are documented at Saindak and Reko Diq in Chagai District.
In Gilgit-Baltistan, reported gold occurrences and placer-gold investigations include areas around Gilgit, Garesh, Bagrot Valley, Hunza, Nagar, Ghanche, Skardu and Diamer, while the Indus, Gilgit, Hunza and Chitral Rivers have been investigated for placer minerals and gold-bearing sediments. The Geological Survey of Pakistan also maintains a Gold Potential Map of Gilgit-Baltistan.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reported prospective areas include Nowshera, Charsadda, Swabi, Karak and Tank, while placer-gold studies have specifically examined the Indus River areas around Ghazi, Hund, Beka, Alladher and Kund. Research has found significant placer-gold potential in Kund, Alladher and Beka.
Other reported gold occurrences include parts of Chitral, Upper Dir, Swat, Shangla, Mansehra, Battagram and Kohistan, while historical government records have also reported occurrences in Kirana Hills, Sargodha, and Nagarparkar, Sindh. These reported occurrences do NOT mean that gold will be found everywhere within these districts.
So remember: do not waste your time searching randomly. A river can carry placer gold only when its upstream catchment contains a suitable gold source. Mountain gold is also linked to particular geological and mineralized zones.
Watch the complete video to learn where gold can potentially occur in Pakistan, how mountain rocks and river sediments can be investigated, and why some locations have much better potential than others.
