We wire up the factory OEM mic on Toyota Avalon to work with aftermarket Android head unit. The factory mic is amplified so you will need a 100k-ohm resistor inline with the signal wire to reduce it for the aftermarket radios. I hardwired it but most people use a USB plug and 3.5mm male side to wire into the factory side. To keep it clean, it helps to use a 28-pin factory radio extension harness.
