If you've ever worked with complex Civil 3D files for flood modeling, you probably know the struggle: inspecting countless elevation points and contour lines, figuring out which data to use, and repeatedly rebuilding surfaces until you finally get the terrain right. With the latest capabilities of STEGIS and STEGeo3D, I can now export points and lines directly from Civil 3D, visualize them together in 3D, identify and filter the relevant data, and generate a reliable Digital Elevation Model (DEM) with far less trial and error. And that's just the beginning! From terrain preparation to flood simulation, I can then visualize the results in 3D, customize the flood map symbology, and animate the flow — all within the STE ecosystem.
